All set for tonight's light heavyweight match as unbeaten champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 21 KO’s), and little known, or shall I say mysterious contender Cedric Agnew (26-0, 13 KO’s) made weight during the weigh-in on Friday afternoon.
Kovalev will defend his title on Saturday at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Kovalev weighted in at 174.3 lbs, and looked in good shape. Agnew weighed 174.4 lbs officially, although his first attempt at the scale showed he was .8 pounds over, which he was given 45 minutes to shave off excess baggage.
Everything was perfectly smooth during the weight-in until choking and ultimately a brawl took place after Karim Mayfield and Thomas Dulorme made the contractual weight.
It started when Dulorme turned around Mayfield's bull cap during the face-off, then I don't know why the hell Mayfield started licking Dulorme's chest. They choked each other and members of each started to get involved.
Before I used to see slapping, spitting, ok... choking or punching during weigh-ins... but licking? This is something new. Anyway its a way to hype the fight whatever it is. Fans would appreciate if they will lick its other with punches inside the ring.
