Longest reigning Filipino champion Donnie Nietes and his opponent Parra both came in at the junior flyweight limit at 108 pounds. Nietes will headline the 30th edition of the very successful Pinoy Pride series.
In the co-feature, multi-division world titlist Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire and Brazil’s William Prado both came in at 122 lbs for their NABF super bantamweight bout. It was reported earlier that Donaire had problem cutting down in weight. But on Friday at the weigh-in at historic Araneta coliseum (now Smart Araneta) had no problems making the contractual weight.
“Prince” Albert Pagara also came in at 122 lbs while his opponent Mexican Rodolfo Hernandez weighed 121 lbs. Pagara’s will defend his IBF Inter-continental title.
